There has been a considerable amount of controversy over the mural at 19th and Noe Streets since the project began in the middle of the summer. But all the twists and turns of this drama are in the past and it's time to look forward.

The painting of the mural is currently in its final stages. I will post new pictures of the mural when it's completed, and a summary of the opposition to the project.

Perhaps the key question is how a highly visible public art project can be completed with little scrutiny, oversight, public comment or even consideration of neighborhood aesthetics, while every small structural change to a residence in San Francisco requires permits and often extensive review?
